Tuesday Tip – Issue 18 – Depuff

Late nights, stress, too many drinks – the holiday season is definitely unkind to your skin and especially eyes.

There are a million products on the market that claim to be eye saviors.  Some swear by cold teabags or cucumbers.  I use to default to wearing glasses to distract from my puffy eyes, until I discovered a little trick.

To get the swelling from your eyelids down, gently stroke a piece of metal over your eyelid. I usually use a clean key or a knitting needle.  The cold metal acts like an ice cube without the water irritating your already sensitive eyes. And best of all, know need to plan ahead with cucumbers or teabags!

Tuesday Tip – Issue 6 – Wake Me Up

It’s been a jam-packed few weeks so I apologize for the limited posting.  I don’t function very well on limited amounts of sleep.  Thankfully, I can turn to my makeup stash to make me look a little more rested than I actually am.

The trick to makeup when you are tired is to go with the less is more and avoid piling on the foundation.  To look more awake, you need to emphasize the brightness and try to fake a glow in your complexion.  My knight in shining armor is Benefit’s High Beam. High Beam is a pink liquid highlighter that can be used all over your face.  To acheive the bright-eyed look, dab some High Beam in the inner corners of your eyes and blend.  You can also dab some onto your cheekbones and the bridge of your nose.  In case you have more yellow tones, go for the golden version of this, Moon Beam.

And I leave you with the only song that could force me out of bed as a child.  Gotta love the 80s!
