I often wonder what I love more: shopping or food. I tend to plan my weekends and even holidays on the quest for that perfect meal. Case in point my last visit to San Francisco where I had made a list of restaurants to test out 4 months prior to my trip!

Unfortunately, a few months ago, my world came crashing down around me when I was diagnosed with allergies towards gluten, eggs, cow’s milk and coconut.  After pouting for a few weeks, I set off to get my foodie life in check by doing what I do best – research via Google. Cyber Monday – Issue 10 – Souq Fashion

I, Ekta, am an OS – online shopaholic.  As much as I love the malls, I much prefer to do my shopping online, especially in Dubai.  Hence why I use and abuse my Shop’n'Ship account, as well as have regular deliveries from international sites like Gilt, Boticca and Asos.

In the recent years, online shopping in the Middle East has taken off with a lot of local and international players, especially in the fashion segment. Cyber Monday – Issue 8 – Fount & Eye Dropper

This week we feature two of our must-have Google Chrome extensions – Fount and Eye Dropper!

Juggle a start-up and this blog while being OCD means that unless we can confirm something is the exact match, I won’t let it go!

This week I couldn’t figure out what font I had settled on the blog. This is wear Fount came to the rescue! Just click on the bookmarklet while on the specified page, and it’ll let you know which font you were using.

Similarly, I tend to forget which shade of pink is appropriate to use, the Eye Dropper extension will provide the hex color code that you paste into Photoshop or Dreamweaver.

Cyber Monday – Issue 7 – My Fitness Pal

The summer is season is officially on! Apart from the hot weather which means more skirts and shorts, summer is officially wedding season meaning a lot more pressure to look and be in shape.

I’m heading off this summer for bridesmaid duty and realized I needed to get as fit as possible in the days I have left pre-holiday. Enter My Fitness Pal!

I first started using My Fitness Pal as an iPhone app a few years back. And since then, whenever I need extra motivation to lose weight, I log back in.

My Fitness Pal is essentially a calorie counter. I like it much better than alternatives since its food database has almost everything you could possibly eat (including homemade Indian food)! Furthermore, it also calculates calories burned via exercising.

The app also has a social feature where you can see and encourage your other friends who are trying to be fit as well. Perhaps my favorite feature is that apart from being an iOS/Android/Blackberry/Windows app, you can log in directly to the website. This makes it easier to make sure you fill in your diary each day!

In case you are looking for some extra motivation or just a digital fitness/food diary, My Fitness Pal is worth checking out!
