Happy International Women’s Day

Life’s back to moving at breakneck speed but Bourjois sent me a note
to remind me that March 8th is International Women’s Day. So why not take a few minutes to celebrate 3 reasons it’s great being a woman:

Reason #1

Slapping on bright red lipstick, towering heels, or bling accessories when you’re in a rut. The men have to stick to their boring browns and blacks with the occasional blue suit!

Reason #2

Security check or extra long queue? It’s usually much easier to be cut some slack if you’re the fairer sex, especially in the Middle East.

Reason #3

Sad movie or celebrating a special occasion, it’s always more acceptable for women to show emotion and wear our hearts on our sleeves.

P.S. Thinking of picking up a Bourjois product? I’m a fan of their Magic Nail Polish Remover – great to store in the office desk in case of a chipped nail emergency!

Top 3 of the Week: Orly, Bourjois & Molton Brown

New weekly feature – we share our top 3 products of the week. We consider these to be pretty awesome but haven’t gotten around to doing a full-fledged review or are favorites from the past.

Orly Cutique 150x150 Top 3 of the Week: Orly, Bourjois & Molton Brown

First up this week is Orly Cutique that I picked up at this year’s Beatyworld Middle East exhibition. Described as a cuticle and stain remover, it is a great thing to have in your nail kit. I often do home mani’s between visits to the nail salon and my cuticles are always a mess. After application for 1 minute, I used an orange stick to easily clean up my cuticles. Nails are as good as new and I can postpone the nail salon visit longer!

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover 150x150 Top 3 of the Week: Orly, Bourjois & Molton BrownWhile I have many nail polishes, I’ve never been happy with the nail polish removers I’ve used. My favorite has been the Cutex dip remover which isn’t available in Dubai but I recently picked up the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover from Boots. The jar with sponge means no messy spills or cotton balls and the formula is strong enough that it breaks down my glitter polishes.  Bonus points for the fruity, non-chemical scent!

My favorite of the week has to be the Molton Brown Suma Ginseng Invigorating Body Wash, which might be pricey at AED 120 but one bath experience will completely justify the purchase. I’ve been a Molton Brown fan for years now but tend to usually go for the sweeter scents but I picked a more manly, woody scent (admittedly it was purchased the day after a fabulous date). A small squirt of this is enough to transform your bath into an aromatic haven.  This one will be loved by both you and the man in your life.
