One of the first big releases from Bollywood in the upcoming summer season is Shootout at Wadala, which first caught my attention because of John Abraham’s gritty turn as a Hindu gangster. Now there are 2 item songs from this film which are dominating radio airwaves. The first one stars Priyanka Chopra as Babli Badmaash.
Now if I hadn’t seen the videos, I would have guessed that Priyanka’s song would be the better one but there’s something that Sunny Leone has that gives her the edge. Perhaps being new on the item song scene makes her win this round? So tell us who’s item song you prefer.
Those who know me can vouch that it’s hard to leave me speechless. But when I watched the following trailer, I had no real words so I’ll let the video do the talking for me:
Yes, Race 2. The sequel to the 2008 hit by Abbas Mustan with returning actors Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor. The sequel ads some fresh faces and toned abs courtesy John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel.
Abbas-Mustan films are pure masala films that feature a good-looking cast, foot-tapping music and some great action stunts. The Race franchise ads to that by giving the proceedings a very stylized look and ample skin show from the lead stars.
Every song I’ve heard/seen from Race 2 has found its place on my iPod. And which girl can be impervious to John Abraham’s chiseled body. I don’t really know what the story of the sequel is, but I know I will definitely be in the audience when it hits the cinema halls.
Race 2 is directed by Abbas-Mustan and stars Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel. It releases on January 23, 2013.
Thank god its Thursday A.K.A. TGIT – that means the weekend is just around the corner! And here’s a little spice to kickstart that weekend!
Ranveer Singh started out as the lovable ruffian Bitoo Sharma in Band Baaja Baarat where he showed off his acting prowess and comedic flare. He then starred in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl where he showed off his great physique (as seen right).
Now he starts off 2013 by appearing shirtless on the cover of Filmfare magazine. This guy might be new in Bollywood but he has a body that could put some of the senior and junior stars to shame. And it looks like he has no problem in showing it off as he did a similar shoot for Men’s Health last month.
And wondering why the charming actor is sporting a serious stash? It’s for his upcoming role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s take on Romeo & Juliet, Raam Leela, co-starring Deepika Padukone and to be released in 2013.
With 2013 just around the corner, it can mean only one thing – time to pick out that NYE outfit! It’s always good to get some celebrity inspiration and that’s when I came across this look of Deepika Padukone earlier this year at the Vogue India Beauty Awards.
Deepika is wearing a gold sequined skirt from the Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2012 Evening wear collection. This she pairs with a black strapless top with a sweetheart neckline. She keeps the rest of her look simple with natural wavy hair left down and simple makeup.
Considering it is normal to sequined miniskirts/minidresses, the maxi skirt is refreshing. And the focus remains on the skirt with a simple but well-fitted top.
I’m not Deepika’s number one fan but there is no denying that she is extremely beautiful with a killer body. And she’s definitely holding her own with this outfit and that gorgeous tan.
My only quibble would be to switch out that mismatching arm cuff for something more delicate and swipe on some more color on the lips – perhaps a bright red.
And I’m off to the mall to see if I can find a high-street version of this outfit!
2012 has been an average year for Bollywood at best but looking forward at 2013, there are some interesting movies scheduled for release. One of the first films to release in 2013 is Vishal Bhardwaj’s Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola (MKBKM to abbreviate that mouthful).
Bhardwaj is not only an acclaimed director (Kaminey, Omkara, Ishqiya) but is a National Award winning composer as well. So it comes as no surprise that the title track of MKBKM is extremely catchy at first listen.
Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola stars Imran Khan as Matru (sporting a very rustic beard), Anushka Sharma as Bijlee and Pankaj Kapur as Mandola. The film releases on 10 January 2013.
