Tuesday Tip – Issue 22 – Layering Mascaras
Sorry about the hiatus of #TuesdayTip – I seem to be running out of ideas so if you have any useful hints to share, do send them along to dollzindubai@gmail.com. I’ve been using this trick for sometime but I figure it was good to share with you guys.
I’ve mentioned before that mascara is my go-to makeup item each morning. I’m not a fan of eyeliner on a daily basis but a swipe of mascara makes me feel/look more awake. I’ve tested out at least 100 different mascaras but I find I get the best result when I layer 2 or 3 of them together.
I like Maybelline Collosal Volum’ Express for the thickness and intense black pigmentation. And I like the lengthening and the pointed brush head of L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes. And finally I like Benefit’s They’re Real separating brush head and curling ability. So I end up using all three!
It might seem overkill but generally we end up applying 2-3 coats of mascara anyways. By using all three, I get the exact look I want. The only thing to watch out for is to let the lashes dry between each coat.
One of the products that I keep mentioning on my blog and consider a #musthave while traveling is Benefit’s POREfessional – so it was about time I did a full review.
Benefit describes this as a “PRO balm to minimize the appearance of pores” but I consider it a multi-tasking primer. Upon application, the skin is evened out and your pores become almost invisible. Even the lightest foundation will apply really well and give you an airbrushed look.
As mentioned before, we are big fans of Benefit Cosmetics – especially their boxed blushes.
While a proper review on Dollz in Dubai is majorly overdue, if you haven’t yet tried them, we highly recommend you pick one up soon. We love how you can build up pigment intensity at the same time looking very natural.
Benefit has just announced its new lip gloss collection inspired by their cult-favorite blushes. Knowing the quality of the remaining items in the Benefit range, we expect these to be a hit as well. They release in the United States later this month and hopefully in Dubai later this summer. We can’t wait to get our hands on our favorites Bella Bamba and Coralista!

When you are a beauty junkie, it’s hard to say that you have a single favorite brand. Sometimes I’m obsessed with a Dior mascara, while other times I’m in love with the latest Chanel polish. That being said, one of the brands that works its way into my makeup routine almost everyday has to be Benefit.
I’ve loved almost all Benefit products I’ve tried, including the Coralista and Bella Bamba boxed blushes, Bad Gal and They’re Real mascaras, Boiing concealer, Cha Cha tint, and High Beam highlighter. This is why I was excited to know they finally released their collection of liquid foundation – the brand new Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow (HFOW) brightening makeup.
