The answer came to me at the Gap Spring/Summer 2013 preview held in DIFC Gate Village a few weeks back. The great thing about Gap is they have all the core concepts down flat. Want well-cut denim and trousers? Try the 1969 collection. Want something fun yet trendy? Try the ultra-bright skinnies, christened the “Skimmers” this season. Need to add something extra? Throw on a leopard print scarf or go for a striped top.

Gap’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection has all the key trends you need in your closet this summer. An element of color, some patterns, and fun accessories. Our picks for this collection would be the new colored khaki collection that are extremely comfortable and feel great to wear. Also worth checking out are the shoes and bags to style up your outfit.

The new Gap collection is now out in stores across the GCC.

Gap Holiday 2012

18 Gap Holiday 2012

It’s the season of new Holiday collections and after big sister Banana Republic showed an impressive winter collection, how could baby brother Gap be left behind.  The Al Tayer group put up a fun show at The Pavillion Downtown last week.

Gap is known for its comfortable casual collection with the incorporation of bright colors. We saw this in the summer “Be Bright” collection, and the Holiday collection followed in a similar vein. Continue reading

Banana Republic Holiday 2012

D3S 7584 1024x681 Banana Republic Holiday 2012Over the last 2 years of blogging, I’ve had the fortune of attending a lot of fashion shows and product launches. However, as impartial as you try to remain, there are few you look forward to more than the other, and that’s how I feel about Banana Republic.

Banana Republic has always been a brand for me that epitomizes a perfect woman – young, classy, and cultured. The outfits are always well-cut; they have a hint of sexiness that allow you to transition from day to night easily and this year’s holiday collection was no different.

This year’s collection was inspired a very trendy part of New York City, Grammercy Park, which I happened to have visited this summer. The entire collection put me in the mood for a trip back there, albeit in the cooler winter months.

I loved almost all the looks from the collection including the skinny, cropped pants paired with boots for an equestrian feel but hands-down, the LBDs caught the attention of my wallet. The cuts will flatter women of all shapes and sizes.

And if that wasn’t enough, the men’s collection was a standout as well.  The jackets are all must-haves and there is a plaid shirt that I’ll be forcing at least one of the men in my life to wear.

So if you’re wishing for a little bit of New York City glamour in Dubai this winter, head over to Banana Republic Dubai Mall for a wardrobe refresher.
