Getting a taste of Korean beauty with Glambox

I’ve spoken about GlamBox a few times here before and while some boxes are better than others, the September 2016 box is definitely something you want to get your hands on as its all about K-Beauty, i.e Korean beauty products.

Glambox September 2016 Korean Beauty

Korea has always been leaders when it comes to makeup and skincare. Whether its sheet masks or cushion compacts, the innovation begins in Korea and eventually filters down to your neighborhood Sephora a year or two later. However, the Western versions of Korean products often fall short of the mark. So I say its best to try the real stuff. That being said, unless you’re planning a visit to Seoul anytime soon, the September Glambox is an excellent alternate to get a taste of K-Beauty. This month’s box features:

Cherry Cherry Lips Modeling Gel Patch by THEFACESHOP

You’ve tried masks for the face or under eyes, but this is the first time I’ve come across a lip mask – and that too in a gel version. Excellent to use when you’ve been OD-ing on drying, liquid lipsticks.

Melting Colour Lip Creamer by THEFACESHOP

If you like glossy, hydrated lips, then the Melting Colour Lip Creamer is an excellent option. It gives the pigmentation of a lipstick with the hydration of a lip balm. Perfect for low maintenance, beach days during Eid weekend.

Charcoal Plant Cleansing Puff by THEFACESHOP

I’m a big fan of Konjac sponges (read my review here) and are a natural and gentle way to cleanse. I love the pre-moistened version by THEFACESHOP that is all ready to use and has a shape better suited for facial contours.

Super Aqua Ice Tear Kit – Toner & Emulsion by MISSHA

I’m most excited for MISSHA finally being available here with their Snail Cream reaching cult status (unfortunately not on sale here yet). If you suffer from dehydrated skin, the Aqua Ice Tear Kit comes from the same range as the Snail Cream and is hydrating.

BROW CLASS Coloring Mascara by SKIN79

Brow mascara is the one product I’m always repurchasing and is the one thing I don’t skip in the morning. Skin79’s mascara is made of conditioning products but sets them in place. A decent dupe for Benefit’s Gimme Brow.

WONDER FIX Brush Eyeliner by SKIN79

While this is marketed as an eyeliner, I think this is excellent for the brows as well. The brown shade and the tip are ideal for drawing strokes for those of you who like more intense brows.

As always, apart from the beauty samples, you’ll get a few more additions. And this month includes a voucher for an afternoon tea at Ossiano, Atlantis the Palm (where this month’s GlamBox launch was held) along with discounts at the Kempinski Palm Spa, Hello Chef, Sumbiya Korean BBQ, and Nedra Beauty Salon.

But if you want this box, hurry as you need to subscribe by September 14th to get this special edition box. Visit Glambox to get your subscription today.
