Whenever a new brand comes out with a polish collection, it’s hard for me to resist and I gravitate like a bee does to honey! And when I heard Marc Jacobs was coming out with a beauty collection, I couldn’t wait to try out the nail polishes.
So far in my collection I have three Marc Jacobs Beauty polishes – Petra, Blue Velvet, and Fluorescent Beige. The name for the products are ‘Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer’ and the polishes are definitely shiny and are inspired by Marc’s lacquered coffee table. The collection has some regular colors like red and nude but in typical Marc Jacobs fashion, there are some crazy colors and a lot of glitter and are inspired by Marc’s favorite movies.
My pick for this week was Fluorescent Beige, which is a gorgeous and refreshing take to a basic nude. In this case, the nude has mauve and shimmer mixed into it so while you get the ‘mannequin’ hands effect, it’s still fun for those who dislike generic colors.
While I love the colors and packaging of Marc Jacobs Beauty nail polishes, the wear I’m still unsure about. Petra and Blue Velvet chipped within days and Fluorescent Beige is already looking quite dull. Nevertheless, I don’t give up easily so I’m going to play with the base and top coat combinations to maximize the wear of these gorgeous colors. The formula is light and the brush is a standard skinny brush making application easy. Most colors are opaque in 2 coats though I used a third for Fluorescent Beige.
Marc Jacobs Beauty is exclusive to Sephora.
