Loving Her Look: Priyanka Chopra on Koffee with Karan

My favorite guilty pleasure Indian television show, Koffee with Karan, is back! For the uninitiated, this celebrity talk show airs on Star World/Star Plus weekly and features 2 or 3 Bollywood celebrities being interviewed by campy director and gossip king, Karan Johar. Along with the quirky celebrity pairings, hilarious rapid-fire round, one of the main reasons I watch is for the fashion choices – especially those from the Bollywood actresses.

A few weeks back I died over Kareena Kapoor’s breathtaking diamond necklace paired with a hot pink evening gown by Monisha Jaising. But the look that really captured my attention was Priyanka Chopra’s cocktail dress, which she wears in this week’s episode with Deepika Padukone.

The cream and black dress features a striped sheath mini dress with transparent midi-length skirt on top so the hem shows off some leg but remains classy. The look was pulled together with a large floral black belt. My initial thought was this a Dior or Burberry and does Net-A-Porter have it in my size?! Turns out Priyanka’s outfit is by Indian designer Amit Aggarwal from his Spring/Summer 2014 collection. The ramp version features a cape which Priyanka thankfully skips for the show.

I’m not a big fan of PC but she really does look great here. The stylish dress shows that stripes can be interesting and is matched with a sleek, high ponytail with a poof and the accessories remain simple. The Christian Dior shoes are ok but I would have preferred black stilettos instead of these strappy grey ones. Nevertheless, well done Priyanka. I can’t wait to catch the full episode and see how the equally stylish Deepika Padukone fares.
