As I was planning my 2014 resolutions, being better with my spending kept coming up. It’s not that I overspend, but I definitely can be better about my spending habits. i.e. I sometime enter Harvey Nichols just planning to browse and instead leave with four products that cost almost AED 2,000 ($500+).
I know some people say that drugstore products are the same as high-end products and we really are just paying for the Chanel brand name. While I can agree with certain things like mascara or moisturizer, I really can’t seem to give up Dior nail polishes or Tom Ford lipsticks. However there are certain price lines which I draw.
I came across this honey mask from Fresh on the Beauty Editor blog which retails for $130 for a 3.3 oz (100 ml) jar. Considering a face mask remains on your skin for 10-15 minutes and takes a considerable amount to cover your face, my first instinct was to say never! I’d rather create a DIY honey mask in my kitchen! But then I realized my current favorite HG mask is the GlamGlow Mud Mask which costs $70 for half the amount. And considering how effective that is for my skin, I’m tempted to toss out my resolutions and add the Fresh Honey Mask to my Nordstrom basket right now!
So tell me, how much are you willing to spend on beauty?
