My love for burgers is well-documented but being Ekta. A.A. (after allergies) makes it difficult to get my fix regularly. Nevertheless, there are some great options for those of us who are looking to go gluten-free or just avoid bread and carbs. I’ve mentioned the lettuce-wrapped burger from Elevation Burger but this review features a breadless burger-in-a-bowl concept from Burger 360.
Burger 360 is a 100% Emirati-owned concept that opened in December of 2012. They call themselves a “Boutique Burger Bar” thereby allowing patrons to customize their burger with a variety of toppings the best way they like it. In case you need help, they have a variety of signature burgers to get you started. I went for a classic New Yorker, which consisted of cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, mustard, mayo and ketchup. However, I did take a twist on that by ordering the burger in a bowl without the bun. As a result I got this (healthy) beauty:
With an ordinary burger, the above might not be as appetizing – but the patty was cooked to perfection (you can specify how you want it done) and all the accompaning ingredients were crisp and fresh. For non-beef eaters, they do have a chicken option but veggie burgers didn’t seem to be listed.
Apart from the burgers, Burger 360 have a range of options for french fries (normal, cheese, chilli, garlic), including my favorite Sweet Potato Fries. They also have a few interesting appetizers such as Fried Dill Pickle Chips and Beef Stuffed Jalapeño, which I will be trying next time. And while we were too full to sample the dessert or milkshake menu, the Deep Fried Ice Cream and Ice Cream Whoppie sounded delicious.
As if the food wasn’t good enough, what made this a WOW experience had to be the ambience and service. Located right on the water, I had breathtaking views of the marina and sunset skies. The waiters knew when to let me be and were available immediately whenever I required anything more. And for sheesha-lovers, they have a tie-up with the adjacent restaurant so you can enjoy a smoke too!
Burger 360 has easily become my new favorite “healthy” burger joint in Dubai. And the only thing that I dislike is their location is a little difficult to get to (but this map should help). But it’s definitely worth the trouble for this delicious concept. Hope to see more branches opening soon!
