I tend to avoid wearing foundation on weekdays and prefer using a tinted moisturizer or BB cream instead. However, in the past few weeks I’ve been job hunting and hence had several interviews to attend. In these cases, I prefer a more flawless look but didn’t want the full coverage of foundation so what to do?
The secret is the prep step of moisturizing. I normally apply moisturizer with my fingers and then apply foundation a few minutes later with a brush. For a lighter, dewier finish, apply the moisturizer with your foundation brush first. This allows the foundation to be well distributed across your face and coats the brush with a layer as well. Next, take about half the amount of foundation that you normally use and blend into the face. It will quickly melt into your skin and as a perk, there will be less product left over on your brush!
And if you aren’t already using one, I highly recommend a stippling brush for foundation application. Also known as a skunk brush, I prefer Mac’s #187 Duo Fibre Stippling Brush for all liquid/cream applications.
