Review: Bath & Body Works True Blue Spa Heel of Approval

Feet are always our most neglected body part and I’m especially one who takes my feet for granted. Combine uncomfortable high heels, barely-there sandals and working out 5 days a week, the feet undergo a lot of traumatic stress.

I’m also one of those weird people who gets embarrassed at the condition of my feet before I hit the nail salon. So whenever I’m giving myself a “pre-pedicure” or just need to give my feet some extra TLC, I turn to this wonder product from Bath & Body Works – True Blue Spa Heel of Approval Cracked Heel Treatment.

This is a thick cream that proves to be more effective than most body butters thanks to one special ingredient: glycolic acid. Glycolic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid that’s popular in many skincare products and breaks down the top layer of dead skin to reveal fresh new skin. In this case, it gets rid of that rough layer of dead skin on your feet to reveal a baby soft new layer, without the stress of manual (and potentially dangerous) foot files.

Since this is a super rich cream (thanks to it being packed with shea butter), I only recommend using this at night, or when you have a long period of time for it to be absorbed. Even if I apply this at night, I wake up in the morning to see greasy footprints all across the house. My routine consists of applying a generous layer on my feet and then putting on a pair of fuzzy socks to allow the cream to be absorbed without finding your sheets and floors covered with the formula.

Heel of Approval can also be used for your other problem areas such as knees and elbows. A small smidge of cream will go a long way! I purchased the large spa size and have barely made a dent in the tub in the 1+ year I’ve had my jar.

True Blue Spa contains a great range of products that are often ignored when visiting Bath & Body Works thanks to the intoxicating signature scent collection  But do take some time to checkout the other products in their collection. If you’re looking to incorporate a new product to your nighttime beauty routine, True Blue Spa’s Cracked Heel Treatment will be a welcome addition and leave you with much happier toes and feet!
