Summer is here which means either you are enjoying an extended break, quieter times at work or it’s just too hot to leave the house. With the all regularly scheduled programming on break, here are 5 shows worth checking out to keep you entertained this summer.
Suits, last summer’s breakout TV show, is back with Season 2 and the chemistry between Gabriel Mecht and Patrick J. Adams is as good as ever. If you are a fan of David E. Kelley’s legal dramas, you’ll probably enjoy this one. The writing is dynamic and there is just the right mix of drama and comedy along with superior acting of the lead actors.
The term Cyber Monday was coined to mark the Monday after Black Friday that companies used to encourage people to shop online. Our Cyber Monday column here will highlight spectacular online finds, blogs we love or just our general love for all things digital.

Cyber Monday – Issue 8 – Fount & Eye Dropper
This week we feature two of our must-have Google Chrome extensions – Fount and Eye Dropper!
Juggle a start-up and this blog while being OCD means that unless we can confirm something is the exact match, I won’t let it go!
This week I couldn’t figure out what font I had settled on the blog. This is wear Fount came to the rescue! Just click on the bookmarklet while on the specified page, and it’ll let you know which font you were using.
Similarly, I tend to forget which shade of pink is appropriate to use, the Eye Dropper extension will provide the hex color code that you paste into Photoshop or Dreamweaver.
In case you are a web designer, marketeer or just an OCD techie, these extensions are worth checking out!
You would think that being the most beautiful woman in the world wouldn’t have any issues with her red carpet outfits. Nevertheless, Aishwarya Rai has had a tough few months with the media making a big fuss over her post-preganancy figure.
Unlike most celebrities, Aishwarya hasn’t made a significant effort to lose the baby weight rapidly. Admittedly she’s curvier than her pre-baby days, but she looks absolutely stunning in this Sabyasachi Mukherjee creation at the Bulgari event in London.
The long white skirt along with the gold applique work is absolute perfection and reiterates that I need a Sabyasachi piece in my wardrobe immediately! The styling and cut is also much more flattering than her outfit at Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla Cannes this year.
New weekly feature – we share our top 3 products of the week. We consider these to be pretty awesome but haven’t gotten around to doing a full-fledged review or are favorites from the past.
First up this week is Orly Cutique that I picked up at this year’s Beatyworld Middle East exhibition. Described as a cuticle and stain remover, it is a great thing to have in your nail kit. I often do home mani’s between visits to the nail salon and my cuticles are always a mess. After application for 1 minute, I used an orange stick to easily clean up my cuticles. Nails are as good as new and I can postpone the nail salon visit longer!
While I have many nail polishes, I’ve never been happy with the nail polish removers I’ve used. My favorite has been the Cutex dip remover which isn’t available in Dubai but I recently picked up the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover from Boots. The jar with sponge means no messy spills or cotton balls and the formula is strong enough that it breaks down my glitter polishes. Bonus points for the fruity, non-chemical scent!
My favorite of the week has to be the Molton Brown Suma Ginseng Invigorating Body Wash, which might be pricey at AED 120 but one bath experience will completely justify the purchase. I’ve been a Molton Brown fan for years now but tend to usually go for the sweeter scents but I picked a more manly, woody scent (admittedly it was purchased the day after a fabulous date). A small squirt of this is enough to transform your bath into an aromatic haven. This one will be loved by both you and the man in your life.
One of the products that I keep mentioning on my blog and consider a #musthave while traveling is Benefit’s POREfessional – so it was about time I did a full review.
Benefit describes this as a “PRO balm to minimize the appearance of pores” but I consider it a multi-tasking primer. Upon application, the skin is evened out and your pores become almost invisible. Even the lightest foundation will apply really well and give you an airbrushed look.
