Spotlight: Banana Republic Spring/Summer 2012

A few weeks back I attended the Gap Spring/Summer 2012 collection. And recently it was time to check out its bigger and more luxurious brother, i.e. Banana Republic.

I’ll let you in on a secret – if you are ever in the market for the perfect white wedges (which are a must-have for every summer) – you absolutely need to visit Banana Republic. They have the most stylish, comfortable and highly underrated shoe collection any fashion brand has. And while the shoes didn’t disappoint in this collection, the clothes more than left their mark.

Set at the beautiful Cabana location at The Address Dubai Mall, the evening’s mood was set by two pairs of salsa dancers preparing you for what seemed like a tropical summer cruise. The collection’s highlights were the signature shift dresses-all belted for added impact, maxi dresses and accessories. We also loved the styling of the models – glossy red lips with a messy updo.

The men were equaly charming in their tailored jackets and khakis. While our summers here might be too warm, we deem the casual-chic jackets a must-have for those of you heading out of the region this summer.

Banana Republic’s summer collection has to be one of my favorite one’s this year. Not only is the collection full of great cuts and colors, but every single piece is wearable no matter what size you come in. Below are some of the favorites from the ramp:

And we have to crown the shirt dress with the peekaboo sequin skirt as our Dollz Pick – even fellow blogger Neelofer agrees!

Thank you again to Eisha and Mona from Al Tayer for the lovely event.
