Kicking off the 2012 awards season, we have the People’s Choice Awards. And as part of our Red Carpet coverage, you’ll not only get my opinion, but fabulous coverage from our guest editor who goes by the alias of Banana! Read on to see what she and I think.
|Ashley Greene in DKNY
D: Lace turtleneck, leather ruffles. Looks as bad as it sounds.
B: Leather and lace sounds much sexier than it looks. Not figure flattering at all!
|Chloe Moretz in Proenza Schouler
D: Cute but kind of boring. Nice for a teenager but not entirely red-carpet worthy.
B: Very age-appropriate and cute! I would’ve totally liked to wear this when I was 14!
|Cobie Smulders in Reem Acra
D: One of my favorites. Cobalt and gold make a great combo. Love the choker.
B: The dress draws attention to her lack of assets up top. But the shoes and choker are great!
|Demi Lovato in Marchesa
D: Nice effort but too much like a prom dress. Love the color though!
B: Trying way too hard, Demi–and your eyebrows are too arched! I’m a big fan of the chignon hairstyle, though!
|Ginnifer Goodwin in Roksanda Ilincic
D: Love the color but a case of too much of a good thing?
B: Would’ve worked better if the leg was more accentuated–higher hemline and not bootie shoes.
|Jennifer Lawrence in Viktor & Rolf
D: I know I shouldn’t but actually like it. I think cobalt will be a popular color this season.
B: Though it wouldn’t have been my choice of dress for her, I think she’s pulling it off. Certainly a memorable dress.
|Jennifer Morrison in Oscar de la Renta
D: Oh, what a tragedy. Bad hair, hate the tassels and tragic shoes.
B: Looks like she wrapped herself in some drapes… and are those VELVET shoes??
|Kaley Cucco in Badgely Mischka
D: My favorite. I have a weakness for nudes and the flowers are perfect!
B: Beautiful! I like the transparent neckline with floating flowers–well done.
|Kelly Osbourne in Honor
D: Hmm…while I like color block this seems too casual on the red carpet. And the grey hair color – why?!
B: I dislike the dress and absolutely hate the hair color!
|Emma Stone in Gucci
D: Like it! Looks fresh and I would love to have this blazer in my closet.
B: I loved this! So daring to do a menswear-inspired outfit for the red carpet. On of my favorites!
|Kristin Bell in Valentino
D: Love the color and love the shoes, but are those wrinkles on the leather skirt?
B: Note to Ashley Greene: THIS is how you do leather and lace!
|Lea Michelle in Marchesa
D: She looks fabulous but not a fan of this dress or shall I say curtains?
B: She looks good, but I don’t like where the hemline hits. And I would’ve preferred pumps with this dress–the sandals look tacky.
|Lucy Hale in Cengiz Abazoglu
D: I know assymetrical is in trend but I really don’t like this. Too much going on. And those shoes are way too clunky!
B: The dress is wearing Lucy, rather than Lucy wearing the dress.
|Miley Cyrus in David Koma
D: It’s a risk that pays off. I love the risque neck and the color on the sides.
B: Smiley Miley was actually one of my favorites! She looks elegant but also funky and fun!
|Nina Dobrev in Elie Saab
D: In my humble opinion, Elie Saab can do no wrong. Great use of sheer and lace. Would have preferred metallic shoes and Nina needs to experiment with hairstyles.
B: I would’ve preferred more lace and less sheer on the sleeves, but I like the color and cut. Yuck on the shoes!
|Vanessa Hudgens in Jenny Packham
D: Another one that screams “prom” to me. Plus the shoes are so boring!
B: Hair, make-up, and earrings are all lovely, but this cob-web dress is more fitting for a witch costume on Halloween. So sad–usually Packham designs are jaw-dropping gorgeous!
