If you’ve been following my tweets, you know that I’m super excited about my upcoming vacation to India. Not only am I going back to the motherland after 6 years, but also I’m attending TWO weddings of some fabulous friends.
As with any Indian wedding, the past month has been consumed with picking up flashy outfits to wear. One of the stores that really helped me out in Dubai was Label 24. This boutique located in Meena Bazaar in Bur Dubai is essentially the Saks 5th Avenue for Indian designers where you can find designers such as Satya Paul, Rocky S and Neeta Lulla under one roof.
Well in the case you need to inject some glamour into your wardrobe, check out designer Jaya Misra’s latest collection at Label 24 this Tuesday, December 13th, 6:30 pm onwards. For more details, click here.
Remember Boticca.com? Yes that fabulous jewelry and accessories site where I got my Poupee Couture. I’ve been trawling Boticca to get all my Christmas gifts together and they’ve now made our lives easier thanks to their themed Christmas Guides. Not only do they have 6 categories for the girls, but they also have 4 categories for the guys too.
While browsing around, I fell in love with all the pieces in the She Who Has Everything section. All the items here are exactly what I expect Boticca to offer: unique items that add to your wardrobe. I would gladly welcome the following pieces as gifts this year!
And since I’m partial towards geeky guys, the Chic Geek section is perfect for gift giving to the men in my life.
So make sure you check out the Boticca Christmas Guide. They even make online window shopping look gorgeous thanks to the amazing illustrations by fashion blogger Nancy Zhang from Sea of Fertility.
I’m absolutely nutters over Chanel nail polish. The addiction of collecting them started earlier this year with Mimosa and Morning Rose from the Summer 2011 collection and Graphite and Peridot from the Fall 2011 collection.
Each season, I’m excited to see the newest colors and now there are rumors of a soft gold polish called Diwali from the pre-fall 2012 collection called Paris-Bombay.
The collection was Lagerfeld’s ode to Rajhastani chic and while the majority have loved the collection, I personally found it garish. Chanel does Paris chic the best and ethnic should be left to the traditional Indian designers. That being said, this collection had some gorgeous tweed jackets that I can only hope will teleport into my closet.
I absolutely fell in love with the makeup: clean faces and lips, heavy use of kohl, and gold-tinged polish all get plus marks from me.
