I’ve lived in Dubai for more than 17 years but this city never ceases to surprise me. Just this weekend I was coming out of one of my favorite old haunts, Reem Al Bawadi, and saw a little falcon chilling in the front seat of a Range Rover.
Similarly, this year I discovered the emerging hipster, arts scene in Al Quoz. With a number of galeries like the Fridge and Shelter, I’ve managed to catch a glimpse of hidden Dubai’s talent, notably the beautiful Gayathri.
Now there is a new festival that encourages UAE-based talent in arts and culture, TWINGE DXB. TWINGE-DXB 2011 is the first edition of this urban arts and culture festival that is organized by the community of Dubai and for the community.
