Workwear from Bebe

Ask any woman from the coroporate world and she will agree that finding the perfect outfit for work can be stressful.  How do you look fashionable and respectable without looking too frumpy or matronly? And in this region we need to be mindful of the culture and ensure outfits are conservative and not overly sexy.

Express, Marks & Spencers, and New York & Company are some of my favorite brands for filling my workwear closet.  We even covered this twist on the button-down shirt on the blog sometime back. Thankfully, as women in the corporate world become more prevalent, more brands are devoting time for special workwear collections.

Bebe, until now well-known for its feminine, sexy clothing, is launching a special workwear collection. While some of the pieces might be a little too risqué for this cultural environment, I think there are pointers that can be incorporated into our outfits.

  • Match the hues of your blacks to give a sharp, sleek look.
  • Add some style to your outfits with chunky, metal accessories.
  • Add a blazer or tights to a structured dress to tone it down.
  • Mix and match leather with tweed and prints with neutrals.

So what do you think about the collection? Anything catches your eye or is it too trendy for work? How do you spruce up your office attire? Discuss!

Makeovers at MAC

Which girl doesn’t love a makeover? And now MAC Cosmetics is making it easier for …

  1. I really don’t like Bebe 🙁 Ive never found anything flattering or even remotely chic in there. The clothes are OTT. I totally love Reiss, Massimo Dutti for work wear, followed by Sacoor Brothers, Banana Republic, Ted Baker and recently Ive started buying clothes online – from US brands that aren’t here in the region. Zara does some nice pieces too but unless you want to be one of the many girls on the streets in the same clothes, steer clear!

  2. I have to agree with you about Bebe but I know some girls who manage to pull off all their outfits. However, I do hope to check out the collection once it hits Dubai.
