This post is going to be a little different form the rest so please bear with us as we take a slight detour from regular programming.
Dollz in Dubai has been regularly posting just over 6 months now. In this time period, you’ve been kind enough to praise the blog through comments, criticisms, and clicks. And we continue to welcome all that!
In the near future, the site will be going through a redesign and will be moving to a dedicated domain name at dollzindubai.com. We’ll be bringing you more features and a couple of contests to show our affection. So to get there, we request some support from you.
1. Like us on Facebook! We’ve set up a Tumblr blog for items that don’t quite make it to a full blog post and we want to get more interactive with our readers. So show our page some love!
2. Help us win the AMD Vision Challenge! The folks at AMD were kind enough to give us an ultraportable laptop to ensure we can blog on the go. It also happens to be in our favorite color: bright pink! The winner of the challenge wins 2 tickets to the USA and that 2nd ticket could belong to one of you! To help us win, you’ll need to answer a few questions about AMD and we’ve posted a summary below. Competition ends on August 22nd, so get voting!
3. Get involved! I’m sure you are brimming with ideas, so if you’d like to be a featured guest blogger, get in contact with us by sending us an email at email@example.com. All ideas are welcome!
Thanks for your patience and keep reading!

ACCELERATED PROCESSING UNIT (APU)
APUs: the power and beauty that drives VISION Technology from AMD.
AMD has always been at the forefront of innovation. But our newest technology is designed to completely shift the computing paradigm.
Why the flow of information needed an innovative solution.
Information inside a computer flows between two critical areas: the GPU (for creative and visual tasks) and the CPU (for analytical and logic-based functions). Traditional PCs have separate CPUs and GPUs which leads to a communication bottleneck. This often results in extensive slowdowns for consumers.
Introducing the innovative AMD Fusion Accelerated Processing Unit (APU):
Powerful AMD processor technology and discrete-class, DirectX® 11–capable graphics combined on a single chip. It’s the perfect combination of beauty and brawn—delivering smooth HD video, powerful multitasking and energy efficiency.
AMD’s new APU features up to 4 x86 cores combined with up to 400 Radeon™ graphics cores in a single microchip.
Definitions of AMD Technology
Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) — AMD’s CPU and discrete-level GPU on a single power-efficient chip.
AMD AllDay™ Power — CPU speed-throttling and power-saving technologies that help reduce heat and noise in AMD technology-based notebook PCs.
AMD HD3D Technology — Supported by an advanced and open ecosystem that, in conjunction with specific AMD hardware and software technologies, enables 3D display capabilities for many PC applications and experiences.
Central Processing Unit (CPU) — A microchip that acts as the computer’s “brain,” executing instructions sequentially as if following a recipe for making a cake. AMD Athlon™ and AMD Phenom™ processors are examples of AMD CPUs.
Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) — A specialized microprocessor that offloads and accelerates graphics rendering from the central microprocessor. It is used in PCs, game consoles, mobile phones and more.
AMD VISION Engine — The foundation of VISION Technology from AMD that enables vivid HD entertainment, blazing-fast Internet browsing and accelerated media applications
